Nine5Four The Magazine Broward County All-Stars: TraneaBorn Tranea Lola Cannon (a.k.a. TRANEA: THE R&B PRINCESS) on July 28, 1989 in Jacksonville, Florida, the now 20 year old songstress residing out of Coral Springs, Florida is the newest singing sensation to hit the industry. Very early on, Tranea always had music and performing as the love of her life. At the age of two, she would grab a microphone (with her young cousins as the band members) and pretend to perform in front of a live audience. She began honing her vocal skills at the age of six in her local Church youth choir as the lead singer. She then went on to become a member of the Deerfield Beach High School Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Gospel Band for four years. Also during this time, Tranea attended the University of the Performing Arts in Davie, Florida where she received professional vocal lessons. A full Band scholarship to Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida (where she was also a member of the schools famed Marching 100 Band) soon followed and she plans to major in Pre-Medicine with hopes of becoming a Neonatal Specialist. But, her long range plans are to continue her budding music career.

Hip Hop and R&B pulled Tranea in as a teen and was greatly influenced by the sounds of Michael Jackson, Boys 2 Men, SWV, Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson just to name a few. From there she developed her very own unique sound that truly compares to none. Along with her singing talents, she has song writing skills and plays three instruments (Trombone, French Horn & Mela-phone). She put all of her talents together and on September 3, 2006, she was privileged enough to audition for “American Idol” Season Six at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. Although she did not make the show, she gained invaluable experience that only fueled her desire to succeed even more in the music industry.

In 2007, Tranea landed an opportunity to perform at the annual Mango Festival held in Deerfield Beach, Florida that featured famed industry heavyweights Angela Winbush, The Stylistics, Donnie McClurkin and Charlie Wilson. Her performance went over so well with the crowd that the event organizers invited her back the very next night to open for Charlie “Last Name” Wilson and The Stylistics. Looking to build on the positive exposure and momentum, her management team found a young super producer/artist/song writer by the name of J-Sharp out of Boynton Beach, Florida to amp things up a bit. The tandems talent quickly meshed together in the studio and in just only two weeks, they produced the [5] track demo entitled “SWAGG ON FULL” just before Tranea returned to college last summer where she is now a junior.

Her team is gearing up for the street promotion of “SWAGG ON FULL” which is the lead single off her debut CD and is already being touted as the “NEW FEMALE ANTHEM” that’s sure to catch fire on radio waves to clubs everywhere. Tranea’s song writing skills are on display as she co-wrote each of the tracks with J-Sharp. The rest of the CD is filled out with “FLIP THE SCRIPT”; “HOW DEEP CAN U GO”; “U KNOW I LIKE” and “SWAGG ON FULL: REMIX”. Her melodic voice and sexy swagga backed up with tight tracks and exceptional production make each song a potential “HIT” and you will see why she’s dubbed, “THE R&B PRINCESS”. This is just a sample of what is to come from this soon to be household name…SKY’S THE LIMIT!! Check Tranea out at www.myspace.com/traneacannon with FaceBook & Twitter pages coming soon!!
