What made you want to be a DJ? Developed a love for music & crowd reaction at an early age. With influences from family members who had musically inclined backgrounds it was un-deniable.
How long have you been a DJ? 22 years
At What moment did you know this was your calling? Never really accepted it as my calling, just as a passion that I had, & happened to be pretty good at it!
What DJ do you look up to? Why? There isn’t just one, I’ve admired & looked up to many From Dj Slick Vic of The Jam Pony Express to Jam Master Jay, with inspirations from Dj Antman & Wildman Teddy T. my reasons vary, they all have helped mold me into who I am musically.
Is this your dream job? If no then what is?* Yes it is in a since, I’m doing something I love, & obtaining revenue from it so its like getting paid to have fun.
Whats your take on the industry today? Full of talent without enough outlets, & still focused in certain geographical areas it skips over alot places where talent is blooming forces artists or industry interested people into already crowded places looking for their break, The Atlantas, L.A.s, New Yorks, & Miami’s. It just need too tap into some of the less charted areas and see what they have to offer.
Are there any other fields in the industry you work in? Yes, artist management, consulting, & developement.
What’s your most embarrassing, funniest, or Worst DJ story? Club White Noise 2007 Club is at capacity & I’m abusing the crowd, I cue up my next song when this undeniable urge comes I HAVE TO PISS, I check my time I have a little over 3 minutes remaining so I take off to the bathroom. Because of the crowd on my way back I was slowed, the music stopped, the crowd stopped & the club went into a dead silence! Still about 75 feet away from the booth I wave to my brother, DJ Famous Amos & he hit the cue button and the club was right where I left it, but afterwards everyone was asking what happened?
Whats in your Ipod? Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Ace Hood, Brisco, Outkast, Iceberg, & alot of unsigned artists such as VP, Jap, Big Bam, Dj Rhymer, Buck Wild, Puncho, G.U.N.S., One Will, Black Gene & more!
Favorite Record to date? Don’t have one particular record all the artist I mentioned have at least one song that I love to hear daily.
Song you could never here again & be happy? Ah Bay Bay Hurricane Chris!!!
What do you do when your not DJing? Work full time as the operations manager for an aerospace metals company, & spend quality time with the family.
