The entertainment business is a funny thing, some say that it’s a business that finds you and you don’t find it. Some people are just born to do what they do, South Florida’s own Kc Chopz is the perfect example of this. Kc was named after his uncle, 3 time Grammy Award winner, KC, from KC and the Sunshine band. His mother is a top rated radio personality on WKIS in Miami for 20 years. It is easy to see that KC was destined to pursue a career in the entertainment business. This type of pressure can put a tremendous amount of pressure on a person, but Kc is showing that he is more than capable of keeping the family legacy alive!
Kc Chopz began his career in music at the age of 18, as a DJ, personality, and producer for the ‘DJ Laz Morning Show’ at Power 96 in Miami. Power 96 is one of the most recognized and prestigious radio stations in the nation; with the knowledge he received at power 96 and two years at SAE audio engineering school, Chopz quickly developed the tools to take the game by storm.
Chopz Currently has his own show radio show weekdays from 10p-2am on Power 96. He has interviewed some of the games biggest artist and has broken numerous records in his market. When chopz is not shutting down the airwaves you can find him in the streets killing clubs and events. KC has held residencies at some of the hottest clubs in South Florida establishing himself as one of the top DJ’s in the nation. His unique style and versatile mixing ability allows him to rock any crowd you put in his path.
When he’s not rocking parties on the turntables and on the radio, he is producing remixes for some of the industry’s leading artists. His Electro House remix to FLO-RIDA’s “Wild Ones” received rave reviews and has over 500,000 hits and counting. In an industry that goes through constant change Chopz has proven that he is always ahead of the pack. “I’m just trying to keep my ear to the street and give the masses what they want!” “Weather I’m mixing on the radio or producing a beat you can always expect a quality product” says chopz.
